October 03, 2007 Information Release: Romanian No Confidence Vote - Update Toronto, October 3, 2007 -- Earlier today Romanian parliamentarians rejected a motion to bring down the Government. The motion was tabled by the main opposition party, the Social Democrats (PSD). Two hundred and twenty parliamentarians voted in favor of the motion while 152 members rejected the motion. In order to pass the motion, 232 votes were required, being 50 percent of both chambers of the Government plus one vote.
