Gabriel's commitment is to operate with respect for the safety, health and welfare of its employees and partners in the community, basing everything it does on best available techniques and to apply the highest international standards. At Rosia Montana, the mine is being developed to meet or exceed Romanian law and all relevant EU directives, current or planned. When Romanian regulations are more rigorous than EU rules (and vice versa), Gabriel and RMGC will adopt the more stringent standard. Social and community programs undertaken by Gabriel and RMGC will be measured against World Bank guidelines and other relevant international guidelines. To demonstrate that these commitments are taken seriously, Gabriel and RMGC have decided to implement numerous internationally voluntary initiatives.
